Description
OverviewHope Valley Country Club is a 18 - hole member owned club located in Durham NC, the club was founded in 1926. Designed by Donald Ross, Hope Valley is proud of its rich history in the game. The highlight of which was hosting the 1945 Durham Open, a PGA TOUR stop that was Byron Nelson's 4th consecutive victory on his way to his record 11 straight. Hope Valley's classic Ross design has also hosted other notable tournaments including the North Carolina Amateur, Carolinas Junior Championship, the Carolinas Junior Girls Championship and most recently the annual playing of the Hope Valley Junior Invitational.
Hope Valley has an active golf program that provides tournament and instructional opportunities for all demographics within the membership.
Currently the club is looking to fill an Assistant Professional position. The ideal candidate must be a highly motivated and detail oriented individual able to work in a multi - faceted team environment.
Experience Required
Successful candidates must possess:
- A background of strong customer service and communication skills as well as the ability to anticipate the needs of members and guests.
- Experience with ForeTees tee time management system would be beneficial.
- A detailed understanding of Golf Genius and strong computer skills will help to set individuals apart from other candidates.
- Possess knowledge of the USGA Rules of Golf and GHIN Handicap system
- Active classification within the PGA of America is required. If not already a PGA Member, the candidate must be actively pursuing their membership.
- Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
Essential Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Helping to oversee the daily golf operation
- Control and manage daily play; ensure guest check-in and fee collection is correct.
- All aspects of tournament operations for men's and ladies' events
- Assist with the ordering, receiving and displaying of golf shop merchandise
- Contribute to a growing junior golf and ladies' player development offerings using the Operation 36 program.
- Teaching private and group lessons.
