Description
OverviewA new chapter to the City of Elwood's golf course, Elwood Golf Links, occurred on June 22, 2019 with the re-opening of the original nine holes, making Elwood Golf Links once again, 18 holes of golf!
We know that many of the citizens of Elwood and surrounding communities are very excited to have 18 holes of golf back in Elwood! The golf course represents a vital historical component to the City of Elwood, dating back to 1924. As people drive to the City (off State Road 37 and on State Road 13) the original nine presents a wonderful first impression to the City as visitors and others drive past this beautiful piece of property.
The successful candidate will work well in a fast-paced environment, and possess the ability to multi-task job duties while also keeping focused with a commitment to the highest level of customer service.The Assistant Golf Professional shall be committed to the mission, vision, and values of Elwood Golf Links.
SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to Director of Golf
Supervises Inside/Outside Services
Experience Required
- A qualified candidate must be passionate about creating an exceptional golf experience for all our annual golf members and daily fee golfers. Specific traits or skills that will lead to success are; attention to service details, strong interpersonal skills, loyalty & commitment to operation and club, ability to facilitate and operate all details in the club's tournament schedule, junior golf and instruction experience with individuals and in clinic settings, and a desire to further their career in golf.
Knowledge, Skills and Traits
- Act as a role model for all employees by demonstrating the behavior and work ethic expected of all employees
- Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills
- Self-motivated with desire to promote and market
- Service and customer focused attitude
- Experienced in written and oral business communications
- Remain up-to-date on customer relationship management tactics and strategies
- Experienced computer user including; Microsoft Word and Excel. Proficient in other applications, i.e. email, internet, tournament software (GHIN, Golf Genius) and database
- Maintain and promote a positive professional image within the community
- Attend conferences, workshops, meetings, and trade shows to keep abreast of marketing and business trends
- Maintain a credible golf game and remain current on teaching innovations
