Your role and responsibilities

Advisory Software Engineer: IBM Corporation, San Jose, CA (Up to 60% telecommuting permitted):

• Support existing customers with company's storage Ceph issues.
• Design, develop, and test company's storage Ceph code.
• Perform debug data analysis on deploy company's storage Ceph installations.
• Assess and analyze performance and operational integrity of company's Storage Ceph.
• Provide help to Ceph L2 support engineers.
• Assist in the development of comprehensive, reusable, self-service solutions for future incidents.
• Provide development support to company's storage Ceph partners.
• Collaborate with Ceph community developers to fix community reported issues.
• Reproduce Ceph filesystem customer issues in internal test clusters.
• Provide sustenance engineering support to Ceph Filesystem internal and external customers.
• Work with Ceph filesystem developers on customer reported issues.
• Utilize: C and C++ languages, Distributed filesystem and storage, GDB, Git, Bash and Python scripting, Kubernetes, Docker and Container.

Required: Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related (employer will accept a Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of progressive experience in lieu of a Master's degree) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer or related. One (1) year of experience must include utilizing C and C++ languages, Distributed filesystem and storage, GDB, Git, Bash and Python scripting, Kubernetes, Docker and Container. $264514 to $267100 per year.
