Description
The Bonner Group, a progressive Democratic political fundraising firm, is seeking a self-motivated, organized and enthusiastic individual to join the team as an Account Assistant. This position will be responsible for working with the Bonner Group’s clients, supporting the team in developing fundraising strategy and managing its day-to-day implementation in a hands-on, collaborative and proactive manner. The Account Assistant will be responsible for implementing fundraising plans and major gifts campaigns through prospect research, individual donor cultivation and solicitation, event planning and other activities as required. This is an excellent opportunity for creative, entrepreneurial individuals to gain valuable experience fundraising for a diverse clientele that includes national and international advocacy, think tank/policy, development, and media organizations.
Responsibilities: Collaborate with Account Executives in the implementation of strategic fundraising plans. Support the cultivation and solicitation of major gifts. Research and explore new sources of individual and foundation funding. Identify, cultivate and sustain individual donors through scheduling one-on-one meetings, phone calls, correspondence and appropriate follow up.
Day-to-day duties will include: Scheduling cultivation/solicitation meetings, organizing trip logistics, writing briefings for each meeting and conducting all appropriate follow up; creating or updating client fundraising materials (including solicitation letters and proposals); researching and prioritizing prospective donors; coordinating logistics for cultivation and fundraising events.
Requirements
Qualifications: The Account Assistant position requires a bachelor’s degree, 1-2 years of professional experience (which may include internships), and an interest in fundraising for progressive organizations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to balance keen understanding and vision of our clients’ fundraising goals and strategies with a hands-on, detail-oriented approach to pursuing them. Essential qualifications include strong oral and written communications skills, an excellent telephone manner, meticulous attentiveness to detail, proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and some knowledge of fundraising database software, sound organizational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of our team.
